Center for Community Arts is part of the City of Walnut Creek’s Arts and Recreation Department. More than 10,000 adults and young people from Walnut Creek and beyond make art in comfortable studios around the city. Classes and workshops include drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass, fiber arts, jewelry, photography and digital media. The center also offers classes in dance, music and theater.

Rohan Murphy Irish Dance Academy was established in 2017 and is dedicated to providing elite training in Irish Dancing. Focused on building a community through this fun and energetic dance style and sharing the love for traditional dance by mastering techniques and building physical and mental strength for every dancer that comes through their doors.

The Walnut Creek Historical Society supports the efforts of community members to expand their understanding of local history. The Historical Society offers tours of downtown heritage sites and the Shadelands Ranch Museum. Books about local history are available for sale. With extensive information about the area’s history, including videotaped stories about unique Walnut Creek events and people, this is the place to learn all about Shadelands.

The Dance House Walnut Creek is devoted to inspiring dancers of all ages and levels in a welcoming environment where passion and talent grow—where students are encouraged to dance, dream, and discover. Classes are offered for ages 18 months and older in Discover Dance; Leap, Twirl & Tumble; Jazz; Tap; Ballet; Hip Hop; and Contemporary.
