Shadelands Multi-Modal Improvement Plan

The roots of the Shadelands Business Park date back to 1852 when it was originally a fruit farm. In 1975, Shadelands became Walnut Creek’s first business park, and was originally designed as traditional office, research and design center. Over the years, Shadelands has attracted a variety of businesses and nonprofits, ranging from small businesses to large corporations. In August of 2014, the Walnut Creek City Council approved the creation of the Shadelands Property & Business Improvement District (PBID), a unified group of Shadelands property owners who advocate for and direct the future of Shadelands. The Shadelands Steering Committee, in partnership with the City of Walnut Creek, has joined forces to improve the business climate, amenities, aesthetics, and value of Shadelands with the Shadelands Multimodal Improvement Plan as a key component.
