Summer Bike Challenge – Explore Your Town From the Seat of a Bike
Looking for free, fun, and healthy summertime activities for the whole family? Check out the 2026 Summer Bike Challenge, a no-cost, non-competitive biking program from 511 CCTA for people of all ages.
Offered in all 19 Contra Costa cities, the Summer Bike Challenge motivates residents to explore their towns by bike, getting exercise and collecting prizes in the process. The program features a bingo-style game card with bikeable destinations, and is designed to give the public opportunities to experience the fun and ease of bicycling to local destinations and see that biking can readily replace the use of vehicles for local trips.
Walnut Creek’s downloadable game board is filled with points of interest and bikeable destinations. Simply ride to each location and cross off the squares as you go – like bingo. Share your pictures in the online Summer Bike Challenge Photo Gallery. Weekly Bonus Prize drawings with chances to win $20 gift cards and an iPad Grand Prize add to the fun.
