Weekly Mayor’s Minute Keeps Walnut Creek Up to Date on News, Events

The City of Walnut Creek has been creating community information videos for its mayors since the pandemic as a way to connect with the community and keep citizens updated on news and events. As trends demonstrate that people would like to access short bursts of information on social media rather than longer videos on the City’s website, the City has launched the Mayor’s Minute with the election of Mayor Kevin Wilk.

Weekly Mayor’s Minute videos are posted on Walnut Creek’s social media channels — Facebook, Instagram, and X. The new, shorter format allows for more flexibility on what’s happening in the city and engages more audiences who may not have the time to view a full five-minute message. Residents hear top issues and previews of events directly from Mayor Wilk.

Each Mayor’s Minute will (generally) include an update on a city issue, a business topic or business opening, and an Arts opening.

View the first Mayor’s Minute here, and then weekly thereafter on the City’s social media channels.
