Collab Fertility Celebrates First Birthdays and Families!

Last month, on a beautiful spring day in April, Collab Fertility hosted an historic babies’ first birthdays celebration, outdoors at the Shadelands Ranch Museum gazebo, bringing together a host of families supported by the Collab care team on their fertility journeys.

To date, Collab has helped bring 42 babies into the world, with 61 more on the way. Its IVF pregnancy rates consistently exceed national averages across age groups, owing to the expertise of its embryology team, a state-of-the-art IVF lab, and a highly individualized approach to care.

This moment also comes amid expanded access to fertility care in California. With the passage of SB 729, many individuals with employer-sponsored insurance have gained broader coverage for fertility treatment, including IVF cycles and embryo transfers.

Held during National Infertility Awareness Week and on Earth Day, the gathering highlighted the connection between reproductive health, environmental awareness, and community — core to Collab’s approach to care. While a joyful event, it also reflects a broader shift in fertility care, one that extends beyond treatment to ongoing support, education, and connection. At Collab, this is known as The Collab Way, an integrated model combining advanced reproductive medicine with nutrition, environmental health, and patient-centered education.

Collab Fertility was featured in the January 2024, May 2024, June 2024, and June 2025 issues of The Shadelands Scene.

“I founded Collab Fertility to bring a higher standard of care to the East Bay, combining strong clinical outcomes with a more comprehensive, patient-centered approach,” said Dr. Thalia Segal, Collab Fertility founder and medical director. “Seeing these families together, many with their babies in their arms, is a powerful reminder of why we do this work.”

The afternoon event featured a soft-play area for babies and toddlers, live music, and time for families to connect with the care providers who supported their journey to parenthood.
