Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market Wins Local and Statewide Honors in Two Recent Competitions

The Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday in the tree-line parking lot at Wiget Lane and Mitchell Drive.

Congratulations to the Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market (DVFM), which is celebrating a season of outstanding recognition after being voted Best Farmers’ Market in Walnut Creek by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau and ranking second, out of more than 700 California farmers’ markets, in the statewide 2025 Favorite Farmers’ Market competition, sponsored by American Farmland Trust.

These two honors highlight the market’s continued commitment to supporting California family farmers and artisan food entrepreneurs and bringing a wide variety of healthy farm fresh produce and non-ag goods to Walnut Creek area residents every Saturday morning.

Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market Market Manager Warren Cox (r) with David Robinson, owner of Mr. Robinson's Authentic British Bangers.

“This recognition belongs to our farmers, vendors, and the local community who show up rain or shine, year round,” said Market Manager Warren Cox. “Being voted Best Farmers’ Market in Walnut Creek and ranking second in the entire state is a powerful reminder of how essential local agriculture and community gathering places are today.”

Rain or shine, Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market is open for business, Saturdays, 9am-1pm.

The Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday, 9am to 1pm, year round, rain or shine, in the tree-lined Kaiser Permanente Park Shadelands parking lot at N. Wiget Lane and Mitchell Drive in Shadelands.

Farmers offer for sale only those fruits and vegetables they grow themselves, ensuring transparency and authenticity, as well as a direct connection between farmers and the local community.

Farmers grow what they sell, so you know the produce is always seasonal and farm-fresh.

One of the many benefits of shopping DVFM is that you’re buying seasonal produce. This fall and winter, you’ll find farm fresh yellow, green, and purple cauliflower; romanesco broccoli; Brussels sprouts; honeynut, butternut, and buttercup squash; romano green beans; artichokes; asparagus; kale, spinach, and hearty rainbow Swiss chard; apples, pears, pomegranates, and plump, sweet citrus fruits; and so much more.

Fall and winter produce comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, colors and flavors.

Adorable French Bakery is a fan-favorite artisanal vendor for Saturday morning delights.

Donna’s Tamales offers a variety of fillings and flavors — and homemade chips — for lunch and dinner.

As we bundle up in our hooded jackets and comfy scarves, now is a good time to get out and explore the familiar — and the unfamiliar — fall and winter delights at the award-winning Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market. Check out the market’s photos, stories, and recipes on Facebook.
