Golden State Dermatology, Golden State Dermatopathology Complete a Major Expansion in Shadelands
Golden State Dermatology (GSD) and Golden State Dermatopathology (GSDP) have completed a major expansion of their joint headquarters and pathology lab, and are now seeing patients and performing critical lab work in a new, custom-designed and built 12,000-square-foot suite within their current location at 355 Lennon Lane in Shadelands.
This isn't just an office move. This is a significant upgrade in space and capacity, with advanced technology for the pathology lab, allowing for a greater number of vastly enhanced services to support rapid nationwide growth, while allowing GSD and GSDP to remain rooted in Shadelands.
Golden State Dermatology is a comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology network with locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Valley. Since its founding in 2016, Golden State Dermatology has grown to more than 40 clinic locations across California, with plans to expand into other states.
When skin conditions are difficult to diagnose solely through examination, primary tissue diagnosis becomes essential for effective treatment.
Golden State Dermatopathology’s full-service, physician-led dermatopathology lab has mirrored this success, now receiving pathology submissions from physicians across the United States and other countries. Dermatopathology is the study of skin disease at a microscopic level, involving the study of potential causes of skin, nail, or hair disorders at the cellular level, and is an essential component for the correct diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders.
Fluorescent in situ hybridization, commonly known as FISH testing, allows pathologists to detect specific genetic abnormalities directly within tissue samples.
The expanded suite features a significantly larger dermatopathology lab equipped with the latest technology to increase processing capacity and efficiency. This includes an expansion of its whole-slide imaging capabilities, allowing the team to digitize pathology slides for remote consultation, seamless physician collaboration, and permanent digital archiving.
