SecureSpace Self Storage Walnut Creek Has Room for Your Stuff
Construction on the new, purpose-built SecureSpace Self Storage Walnut Creek facility at 2700 Mitchell Drive in Shadelands is near completion, and that means that people with extra stuff will soon have plenty of spaces to choose from to store that stuff.
Founded in 2018, SecureSpace Self Storage is a rapidly expanding national storage company known for its modern, clean, and highly secure facilities, featuring 24/7 video surveillance; personalized keypad entry to exterior doors, elevators, and storage units; and on-site management. All units are climate-controlled, protecting sensitive items such as electronics, furniture, and documents from fluctuating temperature and humidity.
The new SecureSpace Self Storage Walnut Creek sits on the former site of QuickMount PV (which closed in 2020), adjacent to Calicraft Brewing Company (to the north) and Summa Academy (to the south).
The facility features a three-story building with 1,297 self-storage units and a one-story, 1,040-SF detached leasing office with public restrooms at the head of the driveway off Mitchell Drive. Reservations are now open, which include a free month of storage.
The developer, InSite Property Group, is also responsible for developing the major, multi-phase reconstruction and expansion of Calicraft, which will feature a two-story, 10,000-SF taproom, restaurant, and brewery, with a newly designed 6,000-SF outdoor beer garden. Spearheading both projects is general contractor P.B. Brown, LLC, under the direction of Construction Superintendent Ken Dore.
SecureSpace Self Storage offers a variety of unit sizes including large exterior units for vehicle storage, and more traditional sizes (5’x and 10’x) on the first, second, and third levels. Click here for available sizes.
Personalized and secure key codes are required to access the building from exterior doors, and to access the elevators to upper floors, preventing people from wandering around where they don’t belong. Cameras are installed at entry points and throughout the floors and hallways for 24/7 monitoring from a variety of angles; monitoring is viewed, recorded, and stored in the leasing office.
The project also includes development of a 700-ft dog run within a 6,830-SF fenced dog park, a 5,000-SF community garden, and a revamp of the parking areas to provide plenty of on-site parking for self-storage and microbrewery users.
Benches and bike racks will be dotted throughout the project, and raised bed landscaping and more than 100 new trees will add to the entire area’s appeal and aesthetics.
Large electronic gates also secure the self storage space from people walking around the school, the dog park, the community garden, and the brewery. The gates only open to vehicles and pedestrians with a secure key code.
SecureSpace Self Storage Walnut Creek plans to open for leasing before the end of July 2026. Construction continues on the new 10,000-SF Calicraft brewery.
