Diablo Ballet is launching its Nutcracker Market, Wednesday, December 2, 5:30–8:30pm, offering a festive evening filled with holiday shopping, delicious bites, family photos, and plenty of seasonal cheer. To be held in Diablo Ballet’s new headquarters and dance center in Shadelands, 490 N. Wiget Lane, this is sure to be a favored annual event.
The Nutcracker Market will offer a wide selection of handcrafted treasures and one-of-a-kind gifts from local artisans and vendors. Whether you’re searching for something special for family and friends, or simply a little something for yourself, you’re sure to discover the perfect holiday surprise.
Among other items, you’ll find artwork, baked goods, candles, chocolates, cookies, fragrances, hair tinsel, handbags, skin care products, and specialty ceramics and pottery. For a list of vendors and links to their websites, visit Nutcracker Market.
Bring family and friends — after school and after work. Look for food trucks outside in the parking lot, and a photo booth inside the ballet center to capture the holiday spirit.
A full 20% of all proceeds benefit Diablo Ballet, Diablo Ballet School scholarships, and Diablo Ballet’s signature community benefit programs, Dance for Parkinson’s and PEEK Outreach.
“This is our first all-community event to bring people together and into our beautiful new ballet center,” said Diablo Ballet co-founder and Artistic Director Lauren Jonas. “Our Nutcracker Market is an invitation to the community to come into our home and do some holiday shopping, and to learn about who we are.
“They’ll see the opportunities we provide young dancers, and learn about our programs that benefit school children, incarcerated youth, and our neighbors living with Parkinson’s. This is very exciting for us — we look forward to meeting new friends and community members and sharing the holidays!”
Admission is free, but registration is encouraged: Everyone who registers will be entered for a chance to win a gift basket from Diablo Ballet’s friends at SkinSpirit.
