Gregory Rhodes, MD, Cancer Center to Host Breast Cancer Awareness Fair, October 7

Enjoy health presentations, resources, and raffle prizes at the Breast Cancer Awareness Fair hosted by the Gregory Rhodes, MD, Cancer Center, held at the Walnut Creek Library, October 7.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Gregory Rhodes, MD, Cancer Center (BASS Medical Group) is hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness Fair on Tuesday, October 7, at the Walnut Creek Library, Oak View Room, 1644 N. Broadway, Walnut Creek, 4–7pm. Free and open to the public, the Breast Cancer Awareness Fair will bring together survivors, supporters, healthcare professionals, and community members for an evening of education and support. People of all ages are encouraged to attend.

“BASS Medical Group is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care, and we believe it is our responsibility to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection, prevention, and support resources,” said Jesse Kaestner, director of the Gregory Rhodes, MD, Cancer Center. “This event is one of the many ways we aim to support the health and well-being of our community.”

The goal is to offer an engaging and informative experience. Attendees will enjoy:

  • Presentations from medical experts on screening, treatment, and prevention

  • Health resources and educational materials from local organizations

  • Raffle prizes donated by community partners

  • Opportunities to connect with others and learn how to support those affected by breast cancer

  • Light refreshments

“Most of all, the fair will be a welcoming space to connect, learn, and support one another,” Jesse said.

Among other presenters, scheduled to speak are Danielle Bertoni, MD, breast cancer specialist at the Gregory Rhodes, MD, Cancer Center; Rachelle “Shell” Portner, RN, an oncology nurse navigator at the Gregory Rhodes, MD, Cancer Center who supports patients as a guide and advocate throughout treatment and beyond; and a breast cancer patient who will share her personal journey.

Attendees will have access to a wide range of educational and informative materials and one-on-one conversations with experts and healthcare professionals. A variety of community vendors who have partnered with BASS Medical Group will be on hand to share valuable resources and services. And, fun giveaways will be raffled off, including spa packages, wellness baskets, Pilates class passes, and more. RSVP online.
