Calicraft Shadelands Construction Update — Taking Shape
Calicraft Brewing Co. has long been a popular meeting place and drinking establishment in Shadelands, welcoming family and friends who come together to enjoy Calicraft's innovative California-inspired microbrews, ciders, and spritzers; guest food trucks; and family friendly community events.
In the spring of last year, Calicraft opened its temporary taproom and beer garden, located at 390 N. Wiget Lane, in Shadelands. Temporary because Calicraft is building a brand new, highly anticipated, and much-expanded state-of-the-art facility at the brewery’s original location, 2700 Mitchell Drive. Calicraft’s construction plans were featured in the March 2025 issue of The Shadelands Scene.
The reimagined, reconstructed Calicraft Walnut Creek is taking shape under the direction of construction superintendent Ken Dore and his teams with P.B. Brown specialized general contractors.
With plans to open well before the end of the year, progress on Calicraft’s taproom, bar, beer garden, and restaurant has been ramping up in the past several weeks, and you can now see a frame and flooring.

If you've been to Calicraft’s temporary beer garden in the last year, then you probably know Calicraft’s friends from Citizen Pizza. And if you haven’t, then you’ll have to make a visit.
Citizen Pizza is a pop-up pizza company founded in Oakland by Calicraft friend and Culinary Director Jeffrey Amber, serving up hot and fresh California-style Neapolitan pizza Wednesdays through Sundays.
